The Association of Sports Performance Analysts (ASPA) is the international professional body for sports performance analysts & data scientists. ASPA is a non-for-profit company limited by guarantee. ASPA is governed on behalf of its members by the Board of Directors.

ASPA was created in response to the exponential growth of sports performance analysis. Now recognised as a sub discipline of sport science and performance coaching the profession continues to rapidly diversify. Significantly, the demand for a professional body came via the collective voice of practicing sports analysts.

Our mission is to drive excellence in performance analysis & data sciences in sport through the promotion of evidence- based practice. We are an inclusive community dedicated to the development & enhancement of professional & ethical standards in applied sports performance analysis.

ASPA is being built with the support of experienced practitioners, academics, and industry leaders who are helping to shape the Association during its founding phase.
ASPA is currently guided by an Interim Board appointed to lead the organisation through its establishment and early growth: Louis Langdown, Dr Colin Barnes, Natasha Dawn, Charlie Trill.
The Interim Board provides strategic leadership, establishes governance frameworks, and supports the launch of ASPA’s professional standards, mentoring, and accreditation initiatives. In due course, this will transition to a fully elected Board chosen by the membership.
ASPA’s work is supported by six specialist Standing Committees providing operational oversight across key areas:
